You know the great thing about our hobby is the great friends you make. I have made so many friends in Lenoir, Valdese and other places that I would have never met if not for a shared love for the automobile. Over the past 25 yrs (I started attending car shows and cruise ins at age 16) I have lost many friends in the hobby. Some were expected due to illness others were a complete shock. I miss them all dearly. But it gives me great comfort to know we will meet again on the streets of gold to never part again. It also makes me happy to know that the hobby that they as well as I love so dearly is still going strong and still has the best people in the world involved! I named my Best Of Show award that I give at all of my shows "The Red Baron Award" in memory of Byron The Red Baron Burleson who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 2005. Each time I give out that award I can see his smiling face and hear his laugh! So to all of the cruisers who have gone on to Cruise in a better place, know that we love you and miss you all!
